 Relationship Assistance
Relationships are giving and taking, speaking and listening, but they can - if things are not going well for one or both - have a big negative impact on wellbeing and health.
Families and partnerships these days are under a lot of pressure. Often there is not enough quality time spent together. Within a hectic every day life disturbances are overlooked and stored subconsciously. Counselling cannot protect you from the disturbances, but counselling can help you identify what the disturbances are that prevents you from enjoying the relationship. Then you can neutralise the negative emotion in similar future experiences.
Another problem often is that we misunderstand a partner and/or are misunderstood by a partner. That does not only apply to people in a loving relationship. That can happen with a friend, a colleague or business partner. It is essential to learn to listen and speak properly - something I am happy to teach.
In counselling I don't try to teach you new tricks - most of them you already know and use them very successfully in every day life. I will just point out when to use your skills and give some hints how to make some improvements.
As certain behaviours are based on the individual's emotional make-up I also can aid you to express your emotions, make them 'flow' again therby dissolving 'emotional blocks'. That often helps to change your point of view - improving your ability to respond in a relationship as you would like to. If you have an issue with being over emotional or under emotional I might advise a NES scan and/or SCENAR application. After all - emotions make our (relationship) behaviours - and dis-ease is a behaviour as well.
I offer single or couple sessions for relationship counselling. You might want to consider a respite holiday - it is very helpful to leave home for a weekend and get a change of scenery.
