1. Take a daily 'time out'
Life is hectic - nothing new, it probably always was through the centuries. Nevertheless, many people pressure them selves or allow to be pressured into a too turbulent life style.
With half an hour to an hour per day spend in solitude, meditating or praying, or just relaxing, you allow your body to recharge the batteries. You also have the chance then to think about what is important today and what is not so important. Instead of running in the treadmill all day you make meaningful decisions and thereby you take control over your day.

2. Wake up and smile
On waking up in the morning take a few minutes before you rise and SMILE. By lifting the corners of your mouth your brain releases 'happy hormones' in your body. Any tasks for the day how 'difficult' they may be will feel less strenuous or demanding, sound more melodious or look brighter and more colourful. This is an easy and great start to enjoy your day and make you rise cheerfully.

Disappointed so far? I hope not. The simple things in life make all the difference.

3. Exercise
I am not talking expensive gym memberships or try to sell you an exercise machine. Just get off that sofa and walk around the block. And while you walk look at the people coming towards you - and smile. Do it once a day or more often, walk a bit faster than usual and break into a sweat. If you prefer the quiet bush or a lonely beach then walk and enjoy what you see around you, the plants, the animals and so on. After all: we are here on earth to enjoy ourselves. Well, if you enjoy a daily ride in a Ferrari - that's one thing. However, the walk is cheaper and healthier and you will FEEL much better than after the car ride.

4. Eat well
No, I am not talking fast food, chips, fizzy drinks etc. Eat fruit, veggies, fish, nuts - and if you caught the fish yourself or planted the tree or maintained the garden yourself that produced the fruit and veggies - even better.

5. Drink plenty of water
You might heard it before - and here I am saying it too: 6-8 glasses of water per day is great. You might not be that thirsty, but excess water cleanses your body. Try to drink the water during the day, the warmer the water the better. If you drink water in the evening, chances are high, that you have to wander to the loo at night time.
If you are a coffee lover be warned: coffee takes water out of your body. To maintain the balance have a glass of water with each coffee.

6. Healing the Mind
When ill, the body warms with pain -
The mind's call you expect in vain.
Problems within yourself, when chronic
They are the worst - it is ironic.
And if the lack of happiness
Dates back for years, one must assess -
The case has been neglected badly -
A cure which is effective. Gladly
The doctor will prescribe: Above
All other things, you need more love.
But to make up this fine prescription -
Such chemist's shop is still a fiction.
Worldwide no lab can synthetise
Love as a standard merchandise.
